Well just finished installing alternator ( what a pain) ran much better. Wine in stereo gone voltage was at 12 volts ?? and was not fluctuating. Then the alternator Light came on and the voltage dropped to 11
![]() The unit lasted less than 10min! so much for buying a rebuilt unit.

Yes I do. Lol. Seems that the new alternator is flaky so ill need to replace it ASAP. I'm going to a local shop and have them rebuild my old one tomorrow morning. I have the next 3 days off so ill be hard at it.

Seems that the new alternator quits working after its been warmed up. Instead of rebuilding my old one I decided on ECS to replace the alternator and expedite it to me at their expense. They were very accommodating. So it will be next week. I am learning a lot of patience. Lol
I might slap the intake on as it is and go for a short run just to see how the car is.

Well I slapped on the intake and took it for a spin with the new flaky alternator. Running great very stable throttle and AFRs. Did some data logging and looks excellent. The TPS / RPM fuel map is now stable and not jumping all over the place when cruising. My stereo since I had the car had a whine / buzz. That noise is now gone and so are the unstable voltages. Now back to putting in the replacement alternator for next week. Then off to the AEM Dyno tunner about 90 minutes drive down the road...
For fun I also was able to test out the Virtual Dyno software. Simulates a dynojet from the AEM logs when u calibrate for the car: driver & car weight, final drive, trans gear ratio, tire height, and drag coefficient etc... Worked fairly well compared to my actual dyno numbers. It seemed to give reasonable numbers

While I'm waiting on my replacement alternator I am configuring my new AEM serial gauge with the EMS. I am now able to configure up to 19 different channels from the EMS and view them on a single gauge. I have set Alarms to flash the gauge on certain conditions. All user customizable. I have it setup for knock sensors, timing, AFR, O2 feed back percent, batt volts, tps volts, rpm, speed, throttle percent, boost , air temp, cam1 & 2 degrees etc... This is some of the flexibility I have been looking for... If I have any parameters that I'm monitoring trigger it gives me a warning and saves on the gauge that hi or low value. It will also send out 2 different out puts for a dash light or trigger low boost etc... I can then just plugin the laptop to download the log and diagnose... Considering the codes that the car throws with the kit this will be a great way to see any issues.

I am going to do a little video on the AEM Serial gauge and how I have it hooked up monitoring the engine. The goal is to implement what I learned via a lot of trial and error about what can go wrong such as Vanos, TPS issues etc. It can now be setup for the gauge to be a flashing alarm for lets say for example if cams not operating due to Vanos / cam sensor failure or even TPS sensor failure/ malfunction. These can now be monitored via the new gauge should issues crop up in the future I would know very quickly what area the problem is. Here's a pic setting up the EMS data. The video is to follow. I don't want to speak for HPF but this would be an easy addition and feature for their kit. It's taken me a few hours just to dial in the gauge with what I want. The neat thing is u can save the configuration so if anyone wanted it I would be happy to send it to them.

For what MAP did you configure the boost monitor?

5bar base map. I then configured the gauges using the telemetry serial data. I created a spreadsheet that does all the math for non signed and signed data channels to accurately configure the gauge. If anyone wants it shoot me a pm.
Correction 3.5 map sensor
