New fuel pump died in 2 days.
Could there be any reason for this happening?
Was it just by luck , the pump was defective? Or is there any possibility of a different issue. The fuse and relay was switched around just for the heck of it. I could also tap the pump to get it to work again.. But now, finnaly, it will not turn on. Ideas? |

That's certainly odd. What happened to the old fuel pump? Try that one? or it failed too? What brand?

Hey, it's rare but I mean it can happen.
Send it back for a new one. Yuck, I bet that'll be a messy, sketchy smelling box Clean it out with brake clean good!

Is it really a failure of the fuel pump or is the fuel pump relay bad?

Yeah, I got a new one in aswell..
First start with the new pump was rough.. The car sounded off. My car was sluggish when accelerating, basically a fuel starvation issue.. When i tested the volts to the pump I was reading 10.5 , wasn't sure if that was correct. It feels like this pump will die out again aswell. Any ideas? Relay? I changed them around and it didn't seem to make a difference. Although, I never figured which one was which. Fuse, I also changed over. I just don't get it |

Well..
Now that I had a clear mind, I ran my car this morning. As soon as u started it, I knew It was misfiring, plugged in the scanner.. Misfire cylinder 1. As it turns out, yes of course my pump needed replacement, and it just so happened a misfire occurred un related which led me back to a pump issue , yet again. I will do some pulling and proding later this afternoon. |
