Texas Vehicle Inspection

I am a little worried about this inspection. Can someone give me more details. Specifically regarding tint and exhaust.

Tint - I was going to tint my windows 10% all around. However i read that you can't pass inspection with anything more than 25%. True?

Exhaust - i pretty much have straight pipes from after the headers back, with two resonators. Is this going to be a problem?

Moving from cincy to Houston shortly. Any info is appreciated.

Down here in San Antonio, Texas....just find a place where they can pass you with an extra fee. Meaning give them an extra 20 bucks and call it a day. I have pretty dark tint and headers. Also no smog test here. At least in SA that it

Thanks for the info. So is it a 3rd party inspection? It's not like the state troopers inspecting your car?

Yea. Like a jiffy lube or some little mechanic shop does them.

Ok that's good news. So they aren't all that strict on window tint?

Some places are. That's when you ask them if they can pass you for an extra fee haha. That's what I did. Shhh

12 inspections and no problems then I got stopped on the houston-tamu highway for dark tint. DPS came up, looked at me and decided to give a warning. I'm not 19 and haven't been for a really long time!
In houston DPS doesn't bat an eye.

I am older and I got a cop made a Uturn just to give me a ticket for tint window, in heavy traffic.
I was driving super slow too(traffic jam nowhere to go)

Go to clownshoemotorsports and have them clear your code. There's a shady inspection place around the corner from them that'll pass you

Any places that will look the other way on my tint? Preferably near washington Heights. Went today and the guy said he couldn't do it. It registered at 5%.

I actually did that once for a previous car and it worked since I said it was only a show car

Do you have to have a TX registration to get an inspection? or do they go by the VIN? Im bringing a car down from north east and not sure which comes first. the chicken or the egg. inspection or registration....
