License Suspension Advice

Every state is different but in Queensland at least when you go to the Department of Transport they generally (after you have paid the fee of course) give you your last 5 years' traffic record. Only if you ask for your full record will it be produced for you.

The Police on the other hand have access to your entire history so if you do happen to find yourself before a Court the Court will be informed of your entire record not just the last 5 years. Previous entries and convictions do not drop off.

And I was not attempting to be smart by asking how much you thought a lawyer would cost. I was genuinely interested. What I can say in response is that for the sum you quote you aren't going to get anyone of any particular substance, experience or ability.

That's probably what disappoints me the most, the fact that it will remain on my permanent record. In any case, I won't be pursuing with legal action, the car isn't proving as much of a necessity as I thought it might have. Interesting to read all the different suggestions and/or opinions on the topic though.

Forzamilan10, I think it was because you were itching to hear the Eisenmann Race exhaust on hard acceleration scream through the tunnel. I don't blame you when you have an excellent exhaust set up that sounds amazing like that.

Sorry to hear they have suspended your license, that sucks.

You are probably right. It was a guesstimate on my part. I wouldn't be surprised it if up to $5k

I haven't had to face a magistrate for 30 years. Unfortunately too many times.

Thanks Rob, you pretty much hit the nail on the head.. it was a glorious note too.. for a very brief period

I like the idea of heading overseas while on suspension. If that ever happens to me I will def do this.
