I've got 1 1-seater and 1 2-seater hobie with pedals and a sail. The pedals make is super efficient and fast. In the summer people are always using them because of how easy the pedals make it.

I own both kayaks and a canoe. We find ourselves using the canoe way more than the kayaks. We do a few Boundary Waters/ Quetico trips every year. It's nice to be able to haul a few hundred pounds of gear, two people and a dog. My canoe is way faster than any kayak, weighs less and is far more stable.

And it's carbon fiber.
