Mine were really right had to force the hell out of the stock covers to get em to fit. Maybe grab some new stock ones should be more flexible maybe. Dunno where you would get covers that are anything other than stock dimensions.

Thanks, not sure if we are talking about the same thing... I was talking about the snap on light in the trunk?
But I do have to get new water seals that go on the sides of the light!

Ohh yeah I was talking about the water guards one the side. Yeah mine were really hard to click in when I installed my eagle eyes. Can always use some butyl rubber to hold them in place haha. When I bought my car the stock taillights were busted and held in with butyl rubber tape.

I couldn't get any backs onto my LED tail lights, the new ones or originals. So the back of my tail lights are open in my trunk and have been for a couple of years since I installed them. They could have designed those tail lights a lot better.

Ok thanks. What did you do about the water seal? Mine are in there but they are not tight. So I just put some clear sealant until I can figure something out?

EE tails do not like the OEM covers for the trunk.
I have guts of the tail lights exposed inside the trunk. Tried many times to put the original covers on but, no go.

Worst, the trunk light bulb touched a grocery bag and the plastic melted on it. Looks like a plasti-dipped bulb now

Hmm eagle eyes should fit fine, there should be covers that come with the lights.

My EE's came with covers. I'm gonna try to put them in today. I'll let you know how it goes.

Ok I was not able to make the gasket/seal on the taillight fit! Will my car be ok if it rains ? I still have the foam thing around the taillight itself. But the metal part is showing ... The good news is that no electrical wires or the inside of my trunk is not showing! Any advice ?

So I attempted to put my L.E.D taillights in today & of course they did not fit.

They sent me lights for what i'm assuming is a coupe because they did not fit flush at all & had a huge gap between the light & fender.

Yes, the auction was for a convertible.

My question to the people who installed the lights are the following;

Where did you adhere the boxs to? I was thinking behind the carpet on the quarter panel.

Did you remove the black plastic molding from the old lights that faces the trunk lid & attach it to the new lights? It looks like it slides out with a little force & there are slots on the new lights for this piece.

With the black plastic I found the best way is to pry it off with a flat head screwdriver then put the new taillight in... Then set the plastic up and hit with your hand/ a rubber mallet! Then it will pop on.

depo led tail lights dont come with a backing for the trunk, you need to dremmel the oem cover and double side tape it

I got the correct lights today. They are 100% diffrent from the original set that I sent back. First there are less wires to deal with. The LED converter's are attached to the rear covers so there is no net to hide them behind the carpet, so the wires are shorter. The covers are no longer snap on. They are held in place by two screws. Once everything was connected & the wires were tucked away they fit nicely. My lights are Eagle Eye brand, they came with the black trim on the lights so I did not have to remove the plastic covers from the old lights.

This is where happy tale ends. The lights work fine.I had the car washed today & the passenger side light is foggy. Eff'in bullshit.

The Eagle Eye inside trunk light covers are ugly - the plate just kind of floats out there and wires show - and the lights don't illuminate the inside of the trunk very well. Nobody ever looks in my trunk but me though so it's OK. That's the only complaint I have about my smoked coupe EE's. I stuck the capacitor boxes on the inner quarterpanels behind the trunk liner. I was thinking about running a strip of LEDs around the underside of the trunk out of sight and wiring it to the EE trunk lights, just haven't gotten around to it...

I have Depos, so they didn't come with a cover. I dremeled down the plastic and metal on the back of the bulb holder, held it in place with silicone, and then adjusted the light and glued the light cover onto the cover. Looks good as new.

I'm sorry to hijack this thread. Does anyone know what size the halogen trunk light is on the Depos? I'm changing my interior lights to LED.

Does anybody have some pictures of what the modified stock covers look like?

THanks,
