Had a follow up with the doctor earlier this week. I have colitis. I'll be on the same medication, but a much higher dose, for six months and then I'll have some more tests run.

On one hand, it sucks to have anything in this arena. On the other hand, I'm responding to the least harsh medication (no side effects).

Now for the kicker...animal protein seems to be one of the main things that triggers "issues." My doctor told me its ones of the common triggers and advised that, while my diet isn't officially restricted, I need to pay attention to what goods give me trouble. I've been paying attention, and when my protein is animal, I have stomach troubles.

Will you have to go on Remicade? My best friend has this (and lives in Chicago, incidentally) and he seems to be well controlled but has to do Remicadetreatments every 6 weeks.

I'll be on Asacol - no Remicade for me. Kushy was supposed to start on it.

for someone with colitis you have an amazing physique. I haven't heard good things about asacol. Goodluck

I'm sorry to hear you have colitis, but I'm glad you've been able to narrow down what triggers your stomach troubles. Hope for the best for ya man!

Thank you - I actually feel better now than I've felt in a long time. I'm keeping my diet a lot cleaner and staying leaner.

As for Asacol, are you saying that you've heard bad things about it?

Thanks man. I'm actually relieved to have a diagnosis. Now, I at least know what's going on and we have a clear plan to treat it.

It's forced me to be cleaner with my diet. I saw a friend who said I'm looking heathier than I've looked in a couple years.

Yes my friends who have been on Asacol did not respond well to the treatment. I don't know how it will work for you, I am sure your GI knows more than I do.

I am starting my remicade treatment on thursday. I will make a thread about it.

That's unfortunate for him. I started seeing benefits within 48 hours of my first dose.

And no, I'm not Jewish (that I know of - I'm a mutt.)

lol, me too.

I know a girl who has had enough CF kool aid to fill up the "oh yeahhhhh" kool aid man 10x over. It's basically the only thing she talks about, and typically no one is listening.

share the story. I'm almost positive I know what you're talking about though. My best advice is to tune it out and just focus on doing well. You have the potential to be really good at this stuff.

So annoying. I'm dropping in at a CF gym tonight where I know the owners. Total opposit. Lets people do their own thing, is smart with his programming, has different programming for different people, and understands that there are alot of different ways to accomplish your goals besides CF and that CF might not work for everyones goals.

There are two guys there who've been my instructors so far that I think are great. This guy was just very dismissive and rubbed me the wrong way.
