- convertible top hydraulic cylinders

- end-links
- brake pads front and rear
- shocks

and almost once a year you'll need an oil change.

Thus in my first year I'm out $800 in necessary repairs, and $1100 of maintenance plus my own sweat and tears cause I did everything myself. Double or triple that total if you need a shop. I suspect I'll need a water pump and fan clutch at some point soon, so tack on another $500.

I've spent more on discretionary stuff (grills, lights, springs, diffuser, lip, SSK, wheels, ...) than I have on maintenance.
I have had my car for exactly 11 months purchased with 40k miles, now sitting at 51k. In that time I have done the following.
Navigation screen and computer...screen was my fault!
Rear brakes
Oil change
Valve adjustment
spark plugs
Sub frame reinforcement
sub frame bushings
Shocks / springs, and ss brake lines which was my choice to upgrage.

Needing attention but ignored so far.
Broken moon roof sun shade tracks
Bad rear quarter window seals
Weeping steering hose
Probably some other minor BS I'm forgetting.

Some how with all of this I still absolutely love this car, and would not consider anything else in its price range!!

My Ride: M3 Coupe
Hi, i've had mine for 11 months. It had 25k on it and was mint. I have done 8k miles since and spent the following

2000 in petrol
2 x rear springs 250
4 x brake discs - 400
8l of oil - 56
inspection 2 - 500
4 x tyres - 800
Random expenses - 400
Warranty - 900
Dynavin clone - 600 + fitting
Insurance 650

Madness really as my 330 i had before was perfect and needed nothing doing to it. It was also fully paid for. But i NEEDED an M3 in my life regardless of the expense!!

My Ride: m Twee lol
First off, 2500 a year is ****ing ridiculous. LOL that alone makes me want to drive a bike/honda...

I am on my third m3 and I dont think I have spent a total of 3500 on anything for the cars and I changed suspension/oil/fluids/mods/maintenance on all three.
2003 vert
2011 e92
2004 coupe now

Depending on the year, there are plenty of maintenance to do.
60,000 and 100,000 markers are the big ones and then 150,000

So at 60,000 or..whenever you first buy the vehicle all fluids and filters and do plugs/coils, I would do belts also at that point.

2012 repairs: Fuel pump, fuel filter, RTABs, fan clutch, t-stat, water pump, coolant tank, front brakes complete (pads, rotors, sensor), rear pads, new tires, belts, and all four wheel bearings.

Edit; Forgot to mention inner and outer tie rods, steering column guibo, driveshaft guibo, and center support bearing.
Sounds like normal wear and tear items for that mileage.

I purchased my car at 98k miles, now at 100k. Replaced CPV valve (oil leak) and exhaust hanger. Wouldn't have known this if I didn't get a PPI. At 98k miles though, RTABS, FCABS, and subframe were all in good shape. I don't know if the PO replaced them or not.
