Do I need this asap?

Found out I'm missing this clip thing on my caliper. Do I need one asap or can I drive like this? Yes I know I need to paint my calipers. That's next on the list. Haha

I think it is perfectly safe to drive. It is an anti rattle clip. We have had people on here who did not even know that their car was supposed to have these clips.
Unless you are having some sort of brake problem, it should be fine to drive until you can order one. If you are really concerned, you can check the caliper after a drive, and see if it is hotter than the other side (I am assuming you have the clip on the other side). If it is a lot hotter, then the pad may be dragging on the side with the missing clip, which is not a great situation.
But, for the most part, it should not cause anything more than some excess caliper noise.

Step back a bit, Wickedly. Merc's watching out for the OP is all. Merc knows it'd be nearly impossible to get it off of a moving e46 and the OP could get hurt that way.

It was only a suggestion...I don't think the OP has done that yet. If you have a better idea of where he can get the clip for cheap, I'd like to hear it. Usually, parked cars are a great source for cheap parts...at least around me they are.

I haven't bought wiper blade inserts in probably 10 years.
