Foam Rolling
I've just recently been getting into warming up with a foam roller, but I haven't done any research into proper technique / understanding how it works until now... this article really helped me. I was glad to know I had the right idea, but I didn't realize you should be stopping when it hurts and trying to use weight to work out the kinks.
http://www.t-nation.com/free_online_...r_for_10_bucks Squatting today so I'll do the full warmup and see what kind of difference it makes.

i used it today... wow what a difference. felt "limber" and ready to squat.
rolling my IT bands was excruciating however, I wouldn't wish that pain on anyone. hopefully it gets better as I continue to use it

Same here! I generally roll before, during and after. It helps a lot, especially with soreness, flexibility, etc.

Foam rollers are excellent. Also invest in a plastic roller stick. When you have your muscles in a very relaxed position, especially your legs, this little tool is magnificent.

Do you guys only roll your backs and legs? I have tension in upper back and shoulders but don't how know how to get to those areas. I have been rolling out back and legs after working out and it help alot. I'll try it before working out to see if it makes a difference.

not they would probably squash down. They are probably using a ball specific for this which is probably more expensive than a lacrosse ball.

I see, no wonder the asshole did not let me try it. He said only members with personal training lessons have access to this equipment.

I used to stuff two tennis balls in a sock, and use it to roll out the knots in my back, on either side of my spine. Worked pretty damm good.
