Tried it today for upper body power day. I struggled to do 8 without sacrificing form.

Here's an update from my workout tonight with a friend of mine.

Here is a pic that was supposed to be a video of a 450 lb. dead lift for 3 reps:

Here is a photo of me doing pull-ups with 70 lbs. of extra weight:

...and here is the video of 22 STRICT pull-ups after 4 sets of 7 with 70 lbs., heavy dead lifts and heavy bench pressing. No kipping or half-assed kipping movements. No lower body upward momentum assistance at all. My PR is 35 fresh!

Check out this video on YouTube:

Have at it boys!!!

I was half kidding when I said that I wasn't impressed. Your buddies' numbers ARE insane. I can't even imagine doing pull-ups with nearly my own body weight. I have a hard time jumping up to the bar with 90 lbs. between my legs. Any vids?

This is typical and we workout a lot and are relatively strong compared to others. These other fuucks are full of it.

Just did about 35-1/2, halves count right?!

I remember back testing in high school, all of the lifting kids went up and did 10-20, and skinny me who doesn't lift walked up and pulled 40 something. I easily had the most by 15-20 pull-ups. That was a triumphant day for me!

Then again... I only weigh 130, still do. ROFL.

I'll get some video next time I workout at his gym. Here a pic of him pulling 615 at a recent CF competition.

M3Inline you are a savage. My god...

SollyD you're correct... I think everyone reporting that they do an easy 25+ forget that you can't get a running start at the bar, swing massively and only come down from the bar 3 inches...

I gotta call major bs on this. You know we're talking with STRICT form, no swinging or anything, right?
I'd like to see a vid.

I probably pay attention to only 10 or so people who regularly post here. The rest I write-off.

I'd like to see a video as well. I have a hard time believing without seeing because that is WELL above average, 130 lbs. or not.

Well, above average is an understatement.. I still hold the record in my school (including elementary through high school, which was like 10 years ago), and I was about 130lbs. I'll openly admit I wasn't using the best form, wasn't wide grip, and definitely used a little swinging towards the end. 21 was my best back then. I find it VERY hard to believe that someone can double that, without "lifting" or having any exercise background.
But if video proof can be provided, I'll be seriously impressed, and kudos will be given.

If they weren't strict form, they were pretty damn close. Palms facing away, chest strait, hands just barely wider then shoulder width, no squirming/twisting, strait up, clear the bar without bending your neck, back down till elbows are strait.

The last 4-5 were a PITA, I'll admit that. I guess I can post a vid since I'm getting called out on it too. I don't know what the average is, nor do I care. Lol.

Just offering my $0.02 on the subject.
