The Redfield Revolution is a Leupold VX-1. It's the same scope, just rebranded. The optical quality is excellent for what it is.

Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't all Redfields made in the U.S.A or is it only the Revolution line?

I'll be honest, I know what Leupolds cost, I have 3 of the VX-3 2.5-9x50's. I choose not to afford one right now. If I put a Redfield on here now, I can always move it to my wife's next gun later on and upgrade my own... (she got my Weaver 1.5-3 on her Pink 10-22)

They're not made in China. Leupold manufactures and assembles most scopes they make in their Beaverton, Oregon facility. This includes the Redfield Revolution line. The Redfield Revenge is produced in the Philippines, and I've heard that the Rifleman series may also be made there, but I have no confirmation on this vs being produced in Beaverton.

Leupold does use certain Chinese-made components like small screws and springs, because they cannot obtain those parts domestically. The American made scopes have all other components made in the US, except the glass. All Leupold glass is made in Japan.

Leupold does farm out other optical options to China, like some binoculars, LRFs and accessories.
The Golden Ring, Mark 4 and Kenai spotting scopes are made in US, but I don't know the origin of the SX-1 Ventana.

Just curious, What problems have you had with the Redfields?

I've never owned a Nikon scope, but never really heard good things about them either.

There is also a Weaver I'm looking at. I just need to stay in the $200 range versus the $400 range I'm used to. Wallet is a bit tight (by choice) with some recent purchases. Like I mentioned, It always gives me an excuse to upgrade scopes & buy another gun to love the old one to....

while not a "problem" but clarify and picking up light in low light conditions you can see a difference (imo)

then again, when you have a MKIV leupold, anything looks like junk in comparison lol
then you are looking into USO and nightforce to make things seem equal

Leupold tends to have better resolution in their scopes than Nikon, and thus Redfield Revolution scopes are good quality. The Nikons tend to have better light transmission and color fidelity. There is an optical "triad" that exists that describes how companies design their optics. Take for instance the way that Nightforce has superior light transmission and resolution, but their color fidelity isn't as good. Leupold on the other hand focuses more on resolution and color fidelity for their Mark 4 scopes. This is why Nightforce is superior to the Leupold Mark4 series: they appear to be better optical quality because of the image quality in more varying light conditions.
I bought my dad a scope for his .308 rifle he bought for hunting. I tested the Leupold VX-II next to the Nikon Buckmaster, and I selected the Nikon because it was less expensive and about on par optically. The Nikon was brighter, but the Leupold has an edge in resolution. Since my dad wasn't doing extreme long range shooting, resolution was not as important as light transmission. You can select your optics to match your needs or desires.
Weaver tends to lean towards light transmission and resolution with their scopes.

Sidebar:
The Leupold Mark 4 series is nice, but USO and Nightforce are significantly better for both optical quality and durability. We just ditched a Mark4 LR/T 3.5-10x40 and 4.5-14x50 for two Nightforce NXS 3.5-15x50 MLR scopes for our sniper rifles. There was a decided advantage of the NF over Leupold. Leupolds are good, but you need to go the 34mm tube Mark4 ER/T 6.5-20x50, Mark6 or Mark8 series to get decent glass (they have different glass and coatings than the 30mm Mark4 series). Even then, Leupold managed to jack a lot of stuff up with those scopes.
If you like the Mark4, you can get a Vortex Viper PST for about 44% less. Optical quality between the two is almost identical.

I need your guy's honest opinion on how I should paint my AK. I'm torn on how I should paint it. Since my buddy works at RD, he is letting me custom paint it however I want.

Since I can't go with their gray (Rifle Dynamics made a deal with Travis Haley to only use gray with his model), I'm thinking of going OD.

I want this thing perfect since I'm dropping some decent coin and this will be my only AK for a very long time.

-I know I want the barrel and comp to stay black

-Not sure whether I want the triangle stock to go OD or black

-Bolt to be polished or black

-Upper and lower receiver OD green

-Safety I'm thinking to keep black

Now here are the big questions.

-Should I leave the rail, gas block with integrated front sight black
-Keep it OD and leave barrel and comp black

-Leave rail OD and keep gas block with front sight, barrel and comp black

Any other suggestions would be awesome.

I may just keep it black if I can't make up my mind.

Here are some pics for you guys.

This is the model I'm getting.

I like the first pic. The AK has a great classic look with some wood still on it. The OD green and wood finish is my vote. Check AR15com for a picture thread. You may find tons of options to concider there.

I totally agree, but I want to be able to utilize a rail for optics.

That first AK is pure sex...simply gorgeous. On my AK, I replaced the furniture with darker wood and left the rest alone. Do you really want an optic on it? Personally, I love the purity of a very basic AK setup

From my experience and the word in these Threads,Delta 3 is good people, but take orders on stuff they don't have in stock, then fill the order when they get it. Pretty much a back order without eta. I will not cancel my order with them no matter how long it takes, just to see if it ever ships.

i have quite a few things adding up to a lot sitting with them in an order.
if it's gonna take forever, i only want a fraction of what i ordered.
