2004 330ci Springs & Shocks/Struts

Looking to Sport Package springs & shocks/struts. Originals have 84K miles on them. Want to lower suspension, but only moderately. Don't want coilovers. Given that I already have the Sport Package, should I bother replacing the springs? Shock and spring/strut recommendations? I've had good experience with Bilsteins. Package deals the way to go or should I buy piecemeal? EAS? Turner? BMPD? Others?

PS - What can I expect to pay for installation?

Just curious, why not coilovers? It would be an improvement over your factory suspension.

Not looking to track the car, so i don't think i need that much adjustability and don't want to incur the extra expense. My dampers have about 84K miles on them. I picked up a set of very lightly used H&R Race springs for $125. If I go with Koni Sports, which is what I'm leaning towards now, I can do the whole job for about $800.

I'm not familiar with coilovers, but have always thought of them as being used on cars that hit the track. Honestly never really gave them that much thought. Maybe I should...

the hr sport springs are fairly aggressive... should have gone touring spring or sportline for slightly lower firmer from regular sport suspension... koni yellow or fsd or billy sport... best options.

ps. coilovers are fantastic if you go with a better brand like bilstein or kws, lots of versatility for street use.

Hmmm...what to do. I'm not married to the H&Rs, but thought they would be the best bet for lowering and stiffening the sport package suspension a bit. I don't want sparks and I need my fillings, so maybe I should do a little more research. At the risk of someone having a cow again, I'm going to ask: What are the primary benefits of a coilover setup versus traditional and what would be a solid don't-break-the-bank coilover setup? I seem to see them for sale used more often than the traditional components.

PS - Thanks for your input. THIS is what forums are for. :-)

Here is a suggestion that is going to be a good alternative to springs http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthr...0#post15107970
