Yes, and most people are much less afraid of black rifles with barrel shrouds and "the thing that goes up" than they were way back then. Our lawmakers have also gained so much intelligence and common sense since those dark ages of mysticism and blind adherence to party lines, as well.
We are so much more an advanced culture than we were back in 1993.
