People look stupid benching upside downs, you can hurt your shoulder and over the years I keep people saying it is pointless.

I feel like it takes the compound out of a compound movement. I feel awkward and vulnerable benching without engaging my quads/glutes/hamstrings/lats/etc. It just feels all wrong! More power to the people who like it however.

I think out of everything I'v ever come across being debated this seems to be the most agreeable topic. I rarely see people say it's needed.

I rarely do it, if ever.

I haven't done it in years, but I used to be on a flat / incline / decline program, I had heard that it was good for lower chest development. Interesting, guess I will continue the trend of not incorporating it!

You're better off doing dips and/or moderate weight decline dumbbells (..and focusing on the contraction; you don't need a lot of weight). Just dip!
