I'm curious why they go on to name a somewhat extensive list of specific models if she's proposing a blanket ban of AKs, ARs, etc.

Yeah, it's weird. It's hard to know what this bill really means before we see the full text. For example, the "tacticool" version of the Mini 14, with pistol grip and 1 lb of rails and other crap, is on that list, but not the "tactical" model, which has a traditional synthetic stock but is otherwise identical. Both models have flash hiders. I also don't see SKS's on the list. I'm guessing that these are just examples of models that fit the definitive criteria that will be listed elsewhere.

No. The plain meaning of the word "including" is "including without limitation". So if someone says, "You can't eat any candy, including jelly beans" it means that all candy is off limits, and jelly beans are included for clarity and emphasis.

The Sig556 falls under the proposed ban. Semiauto, detachable mag + at least one military feature: pistol grip, telescopic stock, thing that goes up.

Can anyone speculate a nice workaround platform of rifle?If AR and,AK are on the naughty list,does anyone see next best in line that isn't named or "included"?

Hope fully this bill is shot down but I am interested in a back up plan.
