If you come to LA with $125, you can buy everything I have for sale on CL right now and flip it all to your heart's content.

Swapping screens really isn't that bad at all. I've done it on my iPod Nano, Video and my old laptop. Watch a few DIY videos, follow the best one as you do it, make sure to keep the screws labeled. In the end the guy that traded with you probably thought he got the better deal out of it. ----------- It's not always a matter of just flipping. Craftsmanship comes into play as well. If you can make that particular item (whether it's a phone or a car) look/perform better than it did when you bought it for a cheap price...you're going to make money off of it.

- Buy cellphones and flip them on ebay for profit.
- Random but profitable: JennAir cooktop cartridges. They are getting hard to find these days. - Vintage speakers and amplifiers. Buy low and usually clean up, replace foam surrounds, relist on CL with a better description and pictures or ebay. - Grandfather clocks and other old mechanical clocks. My dad is a collector and repairs them. He has a specific customer base that he offers them to but usually keeps them.

I do on occasion, but not really "hustle", more like buy and sell/trade to get what I want.
Example: I traded my 6 year old iMac for a 5 year old 17" MBP. I loaded it with some ram, reinstalled OSX clean after a format, placed some much needed software on the machine and resold it for $700, and used that money to purchase a 30" cinema display for my new to me Mac Pro. I do it with guitars (basses) and effects all the time. Problem is, I have what I want/need and can't get rid of anything to try new stuff out.

I do all the time. I buy parts at swap meets and flip them on CL for a profit. I have sold a car here and there on there.

It was a reference to some kid here that "hustled" hdmi cables and stole rims off a white m3.
I have a career.
