Door won't open - locks and unlocks ok

Firstly Happy New Year to everyone

Need a little assistance!

My drivers door has decided to be a cnut for xmas and just will not open. This has sort of happened before but a few attempts at opening conventionally and it "frees" itself and opens however yesterday evening it gave me the bird.

The exterior handle moves freely as does the interior cable (I don't have any door cars installed presently) it just feel like it engages that final click if that makes sense?

The doors lock and unlock fine (barr I can hear the motor working but as in not releasing the deadlock or something)

The lock has been deleted so checking the dead lock etc with the key is an option I unfortunately don't have anymore.

I was thinking maybe the GM5 module but I did a quick diag and cleared all faults (didn't check them individually though) and some characteristics have changed but not the door opening I was thinking maybe the actuator but effectively it still works as it unlocks??

I wouldn't be surprised if its some little latch related to the tightening of the screw as per the other door thread???

Need to bear with me and my silent movies (maybe a few swear words so apologies) and poor camera skills but hopefully this may nudge someone to offer a solution.

A few more vids, afraid not the greatest but hopefully I'll show it in the correct sequence as the last vid or two should show the working passenger door for comparison.

Both handles getting a good working over at the same time (maybe me getting the raving arsshh with the door

Passenger door which thankfully works

Any help especially which leads to getting this resolved would be greatly appreciated people.

That's what I'm thinking the likely cause is, but how do I manage to re-adjust the latch if the door won't open??

My Ride: 2004 330i Manual
I had a problem like this (on an '04 330i) and was able to solve it. Taking off the door panel with the door still closed sure is fun.

Here was my problem, see if you can relate to it: Outside and Inside handles would not open the door. The lock mechanism appeared to work when I hit the lock/unlock button. Upon further inspection everything appears hooked up, outside handle cable to lock/latch mech, inside handle cable to lock/latch mech. Lock/unlock did actuate and sound good inside the mechanism. But in the end pulling the handles would not open anything...

My solution: I found that the outside handle had been pulled too far when I last tried to open it. Follow the cable from the outside handle to where it connects to the latch. Whatever this connection is called has been flipped up (from pulling too far on the outside handle) and won't let the latch mech reset. Play with this part of the latch mech and see if you can flip it back down. After this the inside handle should let you open the door and adjust the latch from the end of the door. Adjusting the latch is the real culprit here.

A tip when adjusting the latch, don't close the door to test it until you're sure the latch will open. Once the door is open use a screwdriver to engage the latch and see how far pulling the handle will open the latch. Adjust and test again until it works properly.

Hope this helped. Good luck!

Now this really does feel right and naturally I really hope it is. Thanks for letting me know and I'll advise accordingly once I get a chance to try it out.
Cheers buddy.

Yes, finally and thankfully as it was driving me mad.

It was the actuator, the mechanism had jammed and wouldn't release the lock. Also the interior door cable "Bowden cable" I think its called which had stretched a little so this was replaced and that was it.

So fingers crossed as it was only sorted on Weds.

Thanks for your suggestions
