Weight isn't really a concern with most LEOs for a handgun. The issue with ammunition capacity is where I would have a problem carrying a 1911. Some people don't mind it, but it's something I would rather not have to worry about. That, and 1911s are finicky guns. Some can be very reliable, but they don't have the reliability that modern combat/duty pistols have.

If it wasn't for how sexy the full rail TRP is to me, I most likely would have had a Valor myself.. Shot one before and they are great shooters!

Unfortunately, the dog ate it shortly afterwards. She pooped a large pile of metal shavings later on.
