I absolutely believe that's true, think of all the hippies and what party they belong to now. Most of them are GOP. I am a Libertarian by beliefs and values but disconnected from any of our parties by their leadership. Unfortunate, but true. I do think Paul Ryan is a highly capable leader and could well become President in 4 years, but I am really beaten by both Republican and Democratic parties. It's like a bunch of Preteens running around complaining about everything and not doing anything. Blaming everyone but themselves for the problems they have created and letting the school yard bullies run the whole damn thing.:ban ghead:

The point is this:

Paul Ryan only received 2 years of SS, it stopped because he was 18. Are you telling me Paul Ryan's father would have received on 2 years of SS payments? Fvck no, the government kept the rest of his money. SS is a joke, let me do invest my own money and do as I wish with it instead of donating to the government.


OP looks at this story as a reason to back SS, I look at this story as the leading example why SS is a scam.

When SS was dreamed up the average life expectancy was far lower than it was today. It was designed so that you never get your money back.

Did it ever occur to you that the situation was ideal at the time, but after thinking about it he changed his mind and decided to fix it?

Or are left wingers only allowed to do this? Kerry voting for it before he voted against it comes to mind. Billary said the same thing, at the same podium years apart wearing almost the same thing. It is political pandering, and BOTH sides do it more and more. And the blind followers of both sides eat it up everyday, more and more as elections get closer.

This rings true of every politician. Kerry voting for it before he was against it. Romney being a Democrat before he was a Republican. Republicans being FOR universal health care in the 90's before it was socialism in the 10's. It would be a hilarious Mel Brooks movie if it weren't reality :/

Why do you ignore this question, I said three times. - Do you not see the flaw in Paul only receiving 2 years of SS while others receive a lifetime of it? Do you understand that if Paul's Dad paid into a mutual fund that money would be Paul's forever, not just two years.

No. It has nothing to do with changing his mind. It has to do with Paul's father paying into a system which others use for a lifetime but Paul Ryan was only awarded 2 years...It is a scam.

Had the SS payments been placed anywhere else besides the government, Paul Ryan could had drawn on that money much longer than 2 years. Instead Paul's father got 2 years and the rest of his payments went to someone else.

Others- People use SS longer than 2 years.

A lot of people are successful with a 401k and would rather take their chances on their own. Some people don't the government.
