I don't understand this obsession about V1 "stealth." The damn thing still has to be mounted somewhere, and if you want any chance at laser reception it HAS to be on your windshield.

V1 is great. But it is only going to help you, not save yo a$$ everytime. Just this morning I had a cop wait until about 100 meters to tag me, because there was no once else around. Luckly I was still warming up the car.
On the other hand, last night I cam hauling around the corner going way too fast, caught a reading about 1/2 mile range, stuffed the breaks and just cruized right by.

They work great 99% of the time. Just do it.

V1 will pick up radar at distances greater than 10 times the effective range of radar.

V1 will not come out with any other models. The V1 will always be the best possible detector that Mike Valintine can make. There would be no need for other models.

Basic history or V1. Mike Valintine used to work for Escort. He designed much of the Escort product line. He quit when he they stopped taking his views/engineering into consideration and started marketing towards a cheaper product. Mike then created the V1. Each V1 is upgradable. When technology furthers, Mike will redesign the V1 just as he has in the past, slap a new version number on it, and upgrade the older versions for a small cost.

They're pretty expensive....why should someone choose a V1 over a beltronics or a less expensive radar detector?
That is complete BS First, the police don't use CBs to communicate, secondly, if it did "scan" the police frequencies, it would be going off all the time, since they are always communicating.

A radar detector is a radar detector, they all go off when they detect radar. Some might be more sensitive than others under different circumstances. What sets the V1 apart from the rest is the counter and arrows, since it is the only detector in the market that has that feature. It is very useful in making a decision whether the signal is a "false alarm" or not. If a radar detector is always going off then you will tend to ignore it, but with the arrows/counter, it provides so much more information.
