Not even close. Jicama can be eaten raw, and is actually pretty good.

I redneck chew a piece of raw spaghetti when Im tooling around in the kitchen, but I don't actually eat raw pasta.

If my tea has lemon I won't object, but I don't prefer it either.

same texture and bland taste?

It doesn't have that nasty starch mouth feel and it's much more "wet." It is more like a radish almost. Raw potatoes give you cotton mouth from all that starch.

think of a firm apple that doesn't taste like anything. i'm not sure if i've ever had cotton mouth, maybe i have to eat more, but there really is no reason for that
