Have you used the loc with the B146? I have had this problem for weeks and my friend who installed the sub says the unit is at fault. I am sure there is a way to fix it. Sometimes when it cuts out I press the horn and it comes back on. In the mornings I turn the engine on and you can hear it through the sub and then it will cut out soon after then come back on when it feels like it.

It's definitely an issue with the new head unit as I had my sub installed and working flawlessly prior to installation of the new unit. It does seem to have a mind of it's own. As you stated, comes and goes as it pleases.

yes, that's what is tapped into my rear deck speaker to give me the RCA that connects to my Amp...in other words the only thing I did was to replace the head unit.

Ok, lets hope we find a solution soon. I sure others must have had this problem, hopefully they will chip in and suggest what needs doing.

I'll let you know if the direct RCA from the head unit to the amp fixes it. Kind regards.

Okay, pulled the radio this morning to do a couple of things:

1) connect the subwoofer rca (didn't realize it's mono single rca that works out for me, used the other to connect to the auxillary video out in case I want to use it later) - so far the subwoofer hasn't gone out once like it did with the LOC
2) connect my L (right angle) radio antenna - works great now

Everything is buttoned back up and no wires in sight anywhere, if anything goes awry with the sub hook up I'll let you know...love the fact I can turn the sub up, down or off now (wife factor+++).

Ok thats good. So you saying you did'nt use a y-cable, just the single rca from the radio to the amp? Maybe I should give it a try. Did you heat shrink wrap the connections ?

Exactly, I run the amp in Mono anyway so I didn't need to put a splitter in, but it's always an option if I change my set up. no heat shrink, just electrical tape.

I am happy to report that I followed your lead yesterday evening and took out the splitter cable from the HU end and connected mono to the sub out rca but I use another splitter cable at the amp end in order to use left and right channels. I also electric taped up the unused plugs. The result is the engine noise has gone and the system is sounding more powerful than before and I drove into work 14 miles this morning and no cut outs.

Thanks man. I am thinking maybe the enco unit was not intended to be used with a splitter cable hence the single sub out rca or the splitter cable was faulty.

Has anyone purchased one of these recently? (Within the last 2-3 months?) I'm curious if any improvements have been made. I spoke with Jolly yesterday and she informed me that the volume problem had been fixed but the random boot problem was still there. I asked for the current firmware version on the most recent units but she has yet to respond....looking to purchase soon but want to see if unit has improved.

The best way to deal with the random boot is the power down the unit before you turn your car off.
