Yeah, the bearing was shot, and it caused the fan to wobble and scrape the inner walls of the shroud.

Mine is Bosch as well.

Edit were you asking about the original? If so, I don't recall seeing a name on the OE fan that failed.

Why to order a new one if the old one is still perfectly fine??

Let me guess... to be safe and avoid overheat right...??

Why buy a case of beer even though you still have 4 in the fridge? Come on, man.

Ordered shocks, fuel filter and cabin filter. Hopefully they'll get here by this weekend...

(Please pardon my auto-correct)

Changed these, oil, air filter (even though I'm picking up jakes AFE CAI later today) and all the little bolts and screws that hold the undercarriage cover and the engine cover as well

Because the engine puller fan is known to explode and cause major damage to other parts. BMW has apparently made an improvement to both the blades and the clutch. I am still convinced that the root cause is a bad WP bearing or pullet that causes vibration in the fan's rotation and blows it apart eventually.

Oh whoops hes talking about the electric fan not the mechanical one...

I think that I should have brought him with me to the bank. The rate was not great, I am five payment from paying for my 3 Series and the dealer would not budge on the price. I will keep what I have and continue to enjoy it.

That was my concern too. I double-triple checked before hitting the buy button.

My "old" fan is already spoken for!

Washed it yesterday for the first time in too many months...

Then a bird shat on it today on the way home from school... It didn't even last 24 hours...

I got the gnarliest windshield chip on Saturday when I was driving in the canyons here with a few friends. This 335is and V8 Mustang in front of were driving so slow, and simply would not move over. Eventually one of then kicked up a rock that NAILED my windshield. Luckily I already have 7-8 other chips. Eventually I'll just get a new windshield.
