Congress needs to be working on the new fiscal-cliff deadline instead of fighting over gun control. Sure, gun control can be a 18th priority. But it is dominating the news and IMO, is far below the Congressional priority of working on a deal. The news media isn't objective with the 24/7 coverage of side news.
This will be monumental bullsh!t (again) if they half-a$$ the talks until 11pm the night before. They are barely talking about their proposals. IMO, starting today, everyone needs to be locked in a room in order to get anything remotely reasonable compiled in ~1 month or so.
And for once, let it be out in the open for a few days so people can read it and absorb the content before passing it. No more "it isn't perfect, but its' all we can do in the last minute".
