which bmw scanner can help sloved my problem?

Hey everyone I finall got my Creader VI from china today, I received the good in 9 day, I paid $58 plus free shipping, what a steal, wow the Creader VI is big , also got my bmw scanner 1.4 for cheap at Amazon for $26.

sorry for the noob question, but why the 2 scanner?? do you have a link from amazon where you got that BMW 1.4 scanner?

Man, Amazon pricing is all over the mat at times. The BMW Scanner 1.4.0 that was under $30 last time I checked is now over $75!

As for why 2 scanners.

You need real times data and BMW Scanner does not always give that to you, in addition BMW Scanner cannot log or graph, the CReaderVI can graph on the tool, maybe not the greatest, but does graph.

Also you can keep the CReader in the car, not computer needed, and when you get a CEL come on, you can pop it in, check and clear the code as needed when your laptop is still at home.

Also the CReader has a pretty good code look up built into it and it works on all OBD cars, not just certain year BMW's.

For the money they spend on these 2 tools, less than $100, blows the Peake Reader out of the water as the BMW Scanner can also code modules and read and clear airbag faults as well.

i haven't got the time to test the bmw scanner yet because i haven't install the software yet because my laptop is running window 7 64bit, the Creader VI is easy to used, just plug and play and i also updated the Creader VI to the lasted software online

sorry, i check up on amazon again and the bmw scanner for $26 is gone, look like i brought the last one from seller Patuoxun, the reason why i brought two scanner is because if i were to brought a Creader VI for $100 from a usa seller, i would rather order one from china for $58 and spend the extra $50 left to buy a bmw scanner. So i brought bmw scanner and Creader VI for total $84, i kill two bird with one stone and save a ton , you can try the link below for a bmw scanner 1.4

If you have the 16 pin under the dash, I believe you will be fine without the adapter, however, you need to have the round cover for the 20 pin port and it has to be installed as there is a jumper that enables the 16 pin port.

The adapter cables are needed of you plan on using something like BMW Scanner 1.4.0.

The cables are only like $15 so when it doubt it is better to have one on hand.

so this just gives you the basic OBD2 codes like a cheapo autozone scanner will, right? Have you found that it does anything useful that a cheapo OBD2 scanner wont?

Does anyone know if the BMW scanner 1.4 will work with windows 8?

Torque or actually Torque Pro for $5 is anything but a cheapo Autozone scanner.

1. Torque will display real time data, such as MAF reading, coolant sensor, throttle position, etc.

2. Torque can graph sensor data.

3. Torque can read codes, clear codes display Emission Readiness Codes.

4. Torque can display trip info and actually overlay your route on a map and show your speed over different sections of your route.

5. Torque may be able to graph 1/4 mile times using vehicle speed sensor and GPS on your Droid device

I guess there may be a lot more things that Torque can do, however, I have not spent a lot of time working with it.

For $20 it really is a no brainer in my opinion and it will do far more than most scan tools costing 5-10 times as much.

How do you get out to plot speed on a map?
