New deck or not?

I currently have a 2004 E46 with the stock unit installed. It doesn't actually have bluetooth, but it does have Nav. I am thinking of replacing it with a new deck that not only includes bluetooth, but a new Nav system as the stock one is lame.

Any thoughts? Does this de-value the car (I have really tried to maintain a stock look to it) and are there any recommendations?

Ultimately I would love the new deck to connect to the controls already installed on the steer in wheel, and be able to use the Talk features also on the steering wheel.

If you're looking for only bluetooth, try the Parrot/Connects2 combo. Parrot for bluetooth, Connects2 for steering wheel controls. Getting a new deck won't devalue the car, but given that verts could be easily broken into, I wouldn't want a reason to tempt thieves. But if you're not worried about that, go for it. Dynavin seems to be a easy, OEM ish looking replacement, but not cheap.

or a bit cheaper is the Chinese copy 2din which do all you want, I have one in mine and im happy with it,

That looks pretty good in there. What mic does it work with... built into the unit, the BMW OEM one, or it's own separate external one?

it has its own mike, just right of the eject button

no I installed it myself its not really hard to do its just a matter of relocating stuff to accommodate the double din, yes all the controls work from the steering wheel and it even comes with a remote for use if you have rear screens for your passengers, I also fitted a rear facing camera too which there is a connection for
