My Ride: 330CI coupe
I have a 2001 330ci and my wife sent the sunroof back and guess what! Anyway I removed the panel per the DIY guide and the passenger side clips are missing and the drivers side are looking failry chewed up. I think this is probably the problem, however the sunshade also looks curved. Does anyone know if this is normal or I am wondering if it has warped (if you have removed your shade was it straight or curved?). If this is the case it maybe creating too much friction and if I replace all the guides I guess it is likely to fail again fairly soon.

This may sound weird...
but I used my moonroof for the first time last week (2003 325i; 3 years old), and the clips broke. Going to be doing the DIY during the week.

Bought my car with no shade last year. So today after getting new clips and a full sunshade replacement on eBay ($50) I attempted this DIY.

This is what I found...WARNING: Images below may be disturbing for some.

This is what it should normally look like:

I replaced in the new sun shade and attempted to re-sculpt the Driver to it's original flat shape and place it back on the track:

But the Driver kept jumping the track and seemed to twist back into shape as soon as the glass roof's sliding mechanism slide to the open position:
