Best PS3 Headset?

So I've decided I'm not entirely pleased with the Call of Duty line of Tritton 5.1 headphones and am looking at replacing them.

I'd like to stay under the 200 dollar mark but could be persuaded to go up a little... any recommendations from people on here?

It's ridiculous how great they sound! You can hear everything that's going on and you can change setting to hear only foot steps, which is really cool as well! You can also use them on any platform and PC. I wouldn't buy anything else... highly recommend!

Logitech F540 - because it works with everything...unless you only use it for the ps3 then buy the 7.1 headset made for the ps3 by sony

i have the sony 7.1's with the mic and they are great. i'm completely satisfied with $90. battery life is great, too.

I just bought the Astro A50s for my PC/PS3. I like them a lot. They are a little pricey at $300 but they work on all platforms and are wireless. Sound really good.

the playstation headset. i love them.

I had turtlebeach, they sounded great but eventually started hissing. It drove me crazy.

Another vote for the PS3 ones. Just don't drop them with force, or the headband will snap...

But they sound great, are comfortable and have great battery life.

Looks like the astro a40 and a50s are well north of 200 a pair.... the px5 turtle beach is running 160 on amazon prime right now... looks like a good buy?

I had turtle beach and they were really nice. But then they broke with barely any force. Thats my only complaint. Then the other side broke too. They are too fragile and most of the bad reviews are because of them breaking like mine did. Astro is the way to go if you can spend a little more. If you get turtle beach be very VERY careful as if you even look at them wrong they will break.

Of the astros, do you prefer a40 or 50? I've seen that "the pros" tend to use the a40s even though they are an "older" design.

I also noticed that skullcandy bought astro and people are saying if you get their brand new stuff, it's from skullcandy and the quality has gone down.. any thoughts?

How do the a50s that you just bought compare with the Px5 from TB? Seem better? I'm fine upping the budget if it will get a better product.

Had the Triton AX pros and loved them for years... one of the speakers started coming in and out so i bought a new pair on amazon (the call of duty version) and for some reason they just sound like garbage... i didn't really notice it until i played a film and was really bummed with the quality.

So figure I'll sell them on ebay and upgrade

I got the 2013 a40's and no problem at all. Love them. A50 are cool but heavy and some of them have been having problems with the mic. U wont regret the A40's.

Where would you suggest buying them? Amazon doesn't seem to carry them and I can't find any discounted retailers online. Any suggestions?

Have you used them? Even my 3 year old tritton ax pros provided a fantastic surround sound presence via the three speaker (plus sub) in EACH ear.

They work VERY well

I got mine right from astro. Payed a bit more but just love them. I don't play much fps's but for other games u can easily pin point where the sound is coming from. 360 degrees around you.
