Morimoto and canbus

Hi everyone.

I'm new to the forum so this is also my formal hello to everyone - so, hello!

Recently just acquired my first BMW, being an e46 323ci 2000 (UK) and loving it. The first and probably the only mod that will happen is the morimoto mini g1 retrofit.
I have already received the kit, being projectors , h1 xb35's, 3five as ballasts, e46-r shrouds, h7 harness.
My question is this, will I need a canbus harness? I don't want to start the roject only to run in to problems regarding errors on the dash or flickering lights.

Has anyone done this mod with similar products and could possibly advise?

Great to be here, and thanks for any advise.

Antony

Hello again,

Sorry, but does no one have any idea? I am in the UK so shipping for a stand alone canbus harness is pretty rediculous so I'd like to know if it is essential to the setup before comitting to the purchase.

Thanks,
Ant

Yes you will need a wiring harness. 9006 will do fine.

Thank you for replying. From what I can tell 9006 is the standard connector found on ballasts as seen in this pic:

On the wiring harness I got from TRS there is a single H7 connector amongst the other connections that go to the ballasts and ground points.
How would a 9006 harness connect? I can't envision it.

Remember, the bulb might be H7 stock but the connectors are all 9006. The ballasts is what needs to be plugged into the harness.
