Noob or Boob? Help

Hey guys- I'm a 1st time BMW owner. 2001 325i with 42k miles I picked up for 8 grand. Its in great condition and I've been all over the forums learning about it. I've always done my own maintenance but I realize this car is different. Anyway the car was due for inspection I so I did the oil change and the cabin filter. Checked all the fluids, batter, belts, hoses etc. All looks good. I did not take off the wheels and remove the front pads as the service manual recommends. It was too cold out. I reset the oil service/inspection but accidentally got into the test menu and may have screwed something up in there but not sure. Anyway- when I drove the car today there was a significant front end shimmy that would come and go and the right front caliper started hanging up after a hard brake for a red light. The car was perfect yesterday. Is there any way I could have screwed something up in that test menu to cause this? I googled the test menus and didn't really see anything that may affect the steering or brakes. Any advice before I take it to the shop? Thanks and sorry for potentially being an idiot!
