The official jailbreak for all iDevices running 6.0 and 6.1, evasi0n, now available

Sorry to pose another newb question- but how do you guys feel about checking your financials through apps such as Wells Fargo, Chase, or even Mint.com on a JB'd phone?

Is there any news or record of JB'd phones being more vulnerable to having valuable information stolen?

Do you all feel comfortable banking from your JB'd iphone?

I bank from my phone often. Jail breaking is unlikely to affect app security.

Alright cool.

I'm running Mac OS X 10.5.8, and I can't get evasi0n to even open on my MBP.

I just updated to iOS 6.1 and evasi0n crashes <5 seconds after trying to open each time.

Hmmm , I'll try restarting my machine to see if that helps it.

*edit: GRRRR!
1) box.net's file crashes immediately after opening.
2) MEGA's file needs me to update my flashplayer, which my machine can't do until I update the entire OS to Snow Leopard or something... something I'm not willing to do tonight...
3) RapidShare's file is "File owner's public traffic exhausted. (da3c7b74)"

I have a feeling I'm going to need to run to an Apple store tomorrow and pick up a 10.6.x disk ($30) to make this work. My Firefox & Chrome bark at me every time I restart them because I'm on 10.5.8... which envasi0n says works, however after a quick google, I find that others on 10.5.8 have the exact same problems as me.

On another note, how the hell do you find all of the goodies in a theme? I can't seem to locate the wallpapers or lock screens.

Jailbroken yesterday as soon as it became available.
Later cydia crashed sending iPhone to safe mode. I was trying to add the sources and cydia servers being busy I was not able to download all the files.
Had to do re-install 6.1(clean install), restore from back up.
All apps I need are added.

My Handcent is acting up now that I've upgraded. I should have just kept the original package. Grrr! Is there any way to download the original package?

Installed Infinifolders and it spread all my apps out over 6 pages... had to reorganize everything and it's completely throwing me off lol

I updated to 6.1 right before I jailbroke.
The battery seems to last way longer. I dont know whether it is the OS or the jailbreak but it did good on my phone.
Left it overnight after a full charge. Still 100% in the morning. Was not the case with 6.0.2, I would be running at 80% after stand by overnight.

However, after I updated and jail broke, the phone went to safe mode.
So, I restored to default via itunes and restored from the backup. Did the jailbreak and everything worked fine.

ive been thinking about buying apple tv, mainly because i want to surf the web from my macbook while sitting on the couch, and read somewhere that a jailbreak is available for the current gen apple tv now too. does anyone happen to know what jailbreaking allows you to do for these things?

Some of those are redundant, like facetime cracked and the text timestamp. 3G unrestrictor does just that for any app, and BiteSMS has the timestamp option built in.

What do you mean change the time? The battery % option is in the general settings under Usage

I JB'd my old 3GS, however it crashes regularly (once every 2 hrs) due to lack of available memory.

My 4s should be fine... so I'm finally tempted to try it again.

Are the repos still overloaded... or is today or tomorrow a good time to take the leap??

I've been doing my back ups to iCloud because in the past when I backed up to iTunes, it wouldn't reinstall my apps in the same place. I would have to do it manually.

I don't know if that has changed or not. It's probably been a year since I restored a backup from iTunes.
