Headlight Inserts/Lenses

I've been trying to paint my headlight inserts black, but the previous owner used some silicone around the headlight lens, and I can't get them to come apart. I try something different everyday. My car has the chrome inserts, which look quite distasteful, but they came with the Angel Eyes that were already on the car when I bought it.

Any suggestions on what I should do to take the lens off in order to access the trim piece?

Distasteful yes, functional yes, please don't paint them black, theres a reason theyre silver and reflective. I'm talking about the reflective bowls, sorry for the confusion.
Theres tons of DIYS for removing the lens

I used to be a fan of the reflective look, but I've had a change of taste. All other trim on my car is black, and I want to make the headlights match.
