Coilovers with 10mm and 12mm spacers???
Sup guys,
Today I got my ST coilovers in the mail and brought them over to my mechanic to install tonight. Right now I have 19 in. OEM wheels w/ 12mm front spacers and 10mm rear spacers. With that said, do you think it'll rub after it is lowered tomorrow? The front didn't look like it would, but the back did from just eying it. I told him to try to do 13'' all around, hopefully it won't be a problem. I tried looking up this combination but didn't see much on it. |

I have stock 19in. with 245 fr/ 275r with Eibach springs. I am running 5mm spacers on the rears and they rub slightly when going over hard bump and that is with fender rolled.

This is how it looks on mine with 10mm on the rears but the rubbing is just too much so I went down to 5mm. Now only the right side is slightly rubbing but only over hard bumps. I think the it looks best with 10mm but I had to settle for 5mm. Someone here were able to use 10mm on the rears without rubbing but he was using a different tire brand. I'm on OEM ZCP with 265/30, and 235/35. 18mm up front, 12mm out back with no rubbing. I havent measured my height yet though.

When I had 10mm, normally on level surface it's fine but anything over small bumps or hard turn would rub. I could see quite a bit of the rub marks on the rear tires. The inside fenders on the M3 is harder than other cars so it can't be rolled completely. There will still be some sticking out. Also, I think most of the rubbing comes from the back of the fender where the fender meets the rear bumper which can't really be rolled. If there is too much rubbing, it could potentially damage the rear bumper I think. Last edited by Westrace; 01-04-2013 at 11:43 AM. |

Picked up the car yesterday. I have no idea how I am not rubbing in the back. I can barely stick my finger between the wheel and the fender. But when I'm driving I do not hear any rubbing, even on turns. I did go over a bump today and heard the wheels rub though.
I'm contemplating if I should raise the back or take my rear spacers off? Or I guess just leave it. I think if I had just 1 person sitting in the back it'll definitely rub. Overall, pretty happy with how it looks though. |

This is my setup too, with a 265 rear tyre - no rubbing! Could probably do a 12mm rear spacer.

I believe most are like this, unless you get the car corner balanced. Im sure some of the other guys would have more knowledge about that.

your driver side is supposed to be a little higher.....evens out when the driver gets in the car.
as for me ...not to threadjack. Im looking into getting and H&R Touring Cup Kit...plan to run 20mm in the back 12mm in the front. stock style 73 wheels.

I've got Bilstein PSS9s and am slightly tucking on all four corners and my Rogue spacers 15mm (F) 10mm (R) are in the mail.. A little worried about the rear rubbing, we'll see..

![]() You'll def need to raise the rear a bit to accomodate the spacers.
