I find it hard to believe that you can't spin tires. Not trying to be an ass but you may be somehow doing something wrong. With my m3, I turn off the dsc in first gear and give it plenty of gas while I'm either at a stop or at any speed between 0 and 20 or so mph, and the wheels easily spin. And if I'm in a douche mood I can spin halfway through 3rd. It's not really heavily modded either. Just an intake, euro exhaust, custom tune and 3.91 diff. Maybe my high diff ratio makes it spin easier idk. But I feel like it shouldn't be too challenging with a completely stock setup

Ok well you may be right or hopfully not about the ass thing but. I am thinking that I am not turning off the dsc button. Is it just on or off or do you have to push it untill a light or something appears or not ? The guy I bought thte car from had lost the owners manual.
I can ask my dealer in the spring. |

Well it's a button labeled dsc. Dynamic Stability Control (in a nutshell, traction control). In a manual e46 m3 it's a little button where the seat heater buttons are, the acoustic booster button, the tire pressure sensor button, etc. Im not exactly sure where it's located at in an smg but I assume it's in or around the same spot or maybe on the steering wheel. Anyway, as far as I know, in an smg if you simply press the button, it only raises the threshold of the dsc and prolongs the engagement. So instead of intervening as soon as the wheel speeds don't all match, it will let the car have a little more freedom before kicking in. From my understanding, in order to completely disengage the dsc, you must hold the button down for 5 seconds or so. Then it will turn completely off and you can go through a set of rear tires in a couple minutes if that's what you're into lol I'd say give the holding down method a shot and see how that goes. In a manual it's simply on or off with the push of a button but hey, I'm sure the in between can be useful on track days and auto cross and stuff. Good luck

All you have to do is click the button if the little yellow light comes on the cluster, DSC is off. Then you just hammer the throttle from a dead stop. If that doesn't work use launch control. Your launch will be adjusted to how fast you depress the throttle. If you smash the throttle fast it'll activate burnout mode. If you press it slow that's launch control. Search on YouTube how to use launch control.

This is probably one of the dumbest things I've read. Why would you want wheelspin? If you're spinnin', you ain't winnin'. If you want to spin tires all day get a solid rear muscle car.
