Electrical Problem - Help!

Hey guys, I've only driven E46's and recently bought an '04 330Ci vert but today I came across a weird problem I haven't seen before.
1. All of the sudden while driving my CD reverted to Radio and the display turned off then eventually audio turned off completely (although I could still open it and insert/remove Cd's);
2. The orange lighting on controls suddenly dimmed all the way;
3. My indicators wouldn't cancel out and I wouldn't be able to turn them off;
4. Steering controls wouldn't operate.

Windows and Air con worked normally but I haven't a clue what was going on...
Has anyone encountered this problem before? I can't seem to find threads with these symptoms

Any insight would be appreciated!

Do you have Business CD or Nav?

Also, what's the health of your alternator? Bad alternator / battery power will result in the strangest things you have ever seen....

I have the Nav.
No idea about the alternator but I just had the battery changed. I'll get the alternator looked at tomorrow! Yeah I've never had this happen before it was weird
