So, I'm not confident I'm going to be able to hit my 300lb bench goal by the end of march as planned. I'm not going to let it discourage me though, i will get as close as i can manage with my hard work and dedication. Wish me luck on my progress!

I don't really know because i don't hit my 1rm very often, and I've been lifting alone lately. I'm thinking 250-260 is probably about where i am. If I'm right, i know 300 isn't impossible by the end of march, but i really need to strengthen my back and chest and shoulders more to land that.

I also don't want to overly focus on the bench. Although it is a goal i would love to meet, i also have other training goals that are important to me.

imo if you're maxing around 260 and want a 300lb max in a matter of 2 months you need to be a little more patient. It's doable if you aren't near your max, a genetic freak, or just another rare case but to try and increase 40lbs in 60 days on one of the lifts that doesn't move up like a squat or deadlift, is really difficult.

Agreed, that's quite an increase. But your numbers are still great in my opinion... hell my goal is 225lb x 8... I'd be happy even if I never went above that. At least I say that now we'll see.

With patience and eating clean & big you'll get it eventually.

I've been stuck at 185 for about a month now. My goal is 185 x 3 and right now I'm at it for about 1rm.

I know my goal isn't being patient, but its also not impossible. Like i said, i don't expect to meet it, that won't upset me and I'll work hard to get close. If i didn't care to maintain a properly rounded workout, yes i think i could reach it, but i would rather get close to all my goals than accomplish one and make little to no progress on the rest.

My theory is to set goals that are at the edge of the possible, work my hardest to accomplish them, but understand I'm not prefect and will probably fall up a little short. As long as I'm making progress, I'm ok with falling a little short or crossing the finish line a little late. I believe striding for perfection and the edge of possible are helping me make more progress than if i was to aim for the reasonably attainable.

That's exactly what I do. Working out without goals will get very boring.

I just have random goals that I'd like to hit. I really need to write down a set list of stuff, like you have. Would make any progress much easier to track for me.

I will as soon as I get home from work. I've been in a subpar/lazy mood all day, and have no motivation to hit the gym. Maybe when I write up a list of goals it'll pump me up enough to go achieve them. Thanks!

Get a dry erase white board. That's what i use. I have one in my room for all my financial stuff and appointments and I'm getting one for the new gym. I always write something motivational and inspiring in the corner to keep me moving forward.
