Home for a little bit, the 12 year olds that the stupid american people elected into office are bickering with my tax dollars right now, so I don't get to deploy for awhile. I'm amazed that both I and them still have jobs....

e46 problem.... maybe...

Today I am driving to pick my dad up after work his car was being dropped off at the shop. On the drive out there no issues, all normal. Pick him up and go from the shop (Atlantic Autosport) to the interstate every time I come to complete stop the Alternator Warning Light (looks like a battery) at top of dash flashes three times in a row. Had to stop for lights/traffic probably 6-10 times and it did it every time. Car still driving normal. Get on interstate drive back to First Colonial exit and get off to drive home and the lights do not flash at all...???

Anyone ever had this happen? If there is an issue the light would stay on yes? I searched the Car manual and my Bentley manual and found no clues for the specific flash 3 times and then off. I cant call the shop till the morning so I was just wondering if anyone ever had it happen... For the moment I have a BMW battery tender that I hooked up for the night just in case the battery isnt getting charged.

Alternator and or battery. Check voltage on battery.

The battery is a few years old, but not that old... The shop said it could be the alternator on its way out. Drove a good amount today and no flashes at all so for the moment I may cross my fingers and hope it was a fluke. If it happens again it goes in to find out whats up.

Check belts and tensioners. May be slipping.
