So no one has had any problems with the built-in bluetooth mic?

Hi everybody!

I am seriously thinking to order this beauty. The android version seems to suit better for me, BUT only when I could attach a 3G and WIFI adapter and the same time...is it possible? So when there is no wifi, unit would fall back to 3G. I don't want to turn wifi tethering on my mobile all the time to support this unit.
However, if its not possible, I will stay at the wince - and so cheaper - version as I don't really see the advantage of the android version with limited net connectivity.
I saw also some variants on Aliexpress which may have built in 3G/WIFI, but I have a feeling they just wording improperly, and the solution is all the time the same: buy WIFI OR 3G adapter, connect it on USB, and done.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Just updating you guys on the unit:

Radio reception is still bad in some places - especially under tunnels etc.

They gave me Sygic with Europe maps, I installed the Canada maps and its working flawlessly except for the fact that the speed is doubled

Android side is working great, only problem is some apps (like Google chrome) cant be installed

Bluetooth works amazing and i never had a problem with phone calls, I can hear clearly and I don't have to yell when speaking with someone

Backup camera works great

Sound is amazing (especially the bass, Harmon Kardon 10 speaker system, didn't need a line out converter or anything)

Problems:
GPS speed is doubled
Bad radio reception
Booting in random modes
Steering controls are slow/unresponsive 1/10 times

What I want fixed:
all the problems lol

That's it, other then that its a great unit. Installed a screen protector and its great, android side is responsive (played angry birds for a bit)
Sygic is great I don't know why i didn't know about it before
Jolly still replies within 12 hours for everything (though now they're at the festival thing)

To fix GPS speed you need to root and send the modified framework.jar.

If you have the torque program on wince, which I don"'t believe exists...

the obd usb unit is like a printer, wince or android is your windows...if you have the driver for your printer on your windows all is fine, otherwise it won't work...

Look for a "torque-like" program on wince

Interested in this info, too? ENCO doesn't have the port for external mic, right?

What kind? "Glossy"/standard or "matte"/no-glare type? If it's no-glare type, does it help? Thanks!

Matte anti glare, it's not much different from the screen with no protector on it I won't say it helps tremendously but I also won't say it doesn't help

Yep, there's no external port. So if any one has taken one of these apart or has some information on the built in mic it would be really helpful.

Question still up

With an another one: is it possible to modifly the WinCE6 Dashboard to include some other programs? I would add a PDF reader with the manual of the car
(Honestly I don't know if there is a dashboard for the wince version like in the handhelt units , or the Navi Button starts immediatly the installed navi software. Do somebody have a screenshot about the default dashboard?)

Thanks.

I've bought a enco b046. But I have problems. When I hear music, it simply changes of the songs themselves. I have to press several times on dvd or usb so that it recognizes the dvd or usb.

what can be the problem? thank you

The Android board doesn't have a bluetooth chipset, nor are there drivers built into the kernel for bluetooth. That doesn't matter, though, because Torque Pro supports USB OBDII readers, and they work fine with the B046.

Quick question about this unit, and bare with me because I'm just getting my toes wet as far as knowledge is this area. From what ive read, this unit does come with navigation capability but what I don't get is how you make it work without using the phone's Bluetooth nav or whatever. I just want regular navigation capability from the unit itself and I don't have any interest in all the phone stuff. Let me know if someone can explain a little better. Thanks.
