Apparently Republican Senator Rand Paul will be giving the Tea Party response to Obama's SOTU speech, distinct from the official GOP response by Rubio. Just more apparent cracks in the GOP facade/base?

No. It suggests 2 responses to one speech.

It is a savvy to get twice the exposure.

I would say this is vastly different. After all the Republican policy of the past 4 years failed miserably with the reelection of Obama. There is much finger pointing going on and divergent policies emerging. The only thing they can agree on is that Obama will only be a two term president.

Because we are witnessing it falling apart. Anyone that can't see or recognize the internal rifts is willfully blind. There was a divide with Romney and it was exposed even more when Romney loss. The two sides of the party continue to point fingers and blame to the other side.
