Any shops in jersey?
I know there are many shops that have a username and password on this forum.
Shop owners: If you dont mind, please PM me. I need a couple of simple things done to my car. Simple for a shop with proper tools to do but difficult for myself since I do not have those kind of resources. I would like to get a well thought out quote. I know shops do not throw out pricing because you can take it and go compare it with other quotes but I do not want to travel and be slapped with a huge invoice. I need somebody in jersey. I know some good shops in queens but too much of a hassle to get there nowadays with my hectic schedule. Work is to be done on an e36 M. Last edited by E46tknv; 02-08-2013 at 07:21 PM. |

Eugene, first, if you've not done it yet, list the work you want quoted.
Second, if you wait until the spring for non-essential things like thermostat (unless it's bad), PM me. I think I can find time for you. I'd like to, but my life is busy these days. Doug Quote:

Harbor Freight...$20...I only have one deep socket, but I'm surprised you need them for the M vcg. You sure about that?
Anyway, as a principal, it almost always pays to get the tools rather than to pay someone with the tools you need. I haven't needed a new tool in years...but you should have the tools your car needs, by and large.

Hey Eugene. I don't know if you happened to see their post, but there's a shop in Washington Twsp in Warren county out by where I live. My nephew spoke to them and is getting some work done by them.
Here's the link: http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=964706 Hope it helps. Ed |

I second ASC in Atlantic Highlands, family owned, top notch work, extremely friendly staff, and very reasonable prices.
They do all the work on my m3, actually it's there now and they figured out a bunch of issues I was stuck on!

Eugene, a deep set of sockets costs $20 or so at Harbor Freight. VCG is simple. If you don't have a huge leak, talk with me when it gets a little warmer...I'll help you out. But, I'm thinking a vcg at most shops might be $4-500. Sockets for the job...$20. Tools for almost every job...maybe $1-200. Just saying.
Your car is going to start getting expensive if you don't start having fun! You've figured out the other things you've done, you can do this too. It's not as bad as I think you think it is. Also, you learn to put things together by taking them apart. Easy.
