Looks great but the one thing I like is the AE's that are skinnier. The new BMW 3 series AE's are like that where they are just almost too much when on. hmmm

What did u guys use to place the rings on facelift coup!? I'm scared that double sided tape will eventually fall off and silicone takes to long to dry.
In the other hand I believe that if we seal our lights with silicone, it will be a lot harder to open back up if sumtn ever goes wrong because silicone melts at a lot hire temp.

Just did this yesterday, what a PITA. The baking was easy, it's the disassembly and re-assembly of the headlight that takes the longest. So many torx screws that I had to be really organized and remember where everything went!

As far as re-sealing I said the hell with silicone and just re-heated the OEM adhesive. Pics to follow

My only regret is that I didn't spray enough VHT tint on the clear corners. I was afraid of going too dark, but it still looks good. Just not as blended as my last car. Will do again if/when the angel eyes fall or moisture gets in

Luckily I balanced the tint on mine but I just order the switchback LED white corners and I'm probably gonna remove the lens and tint the silver bezel alittle.

Hey Whey,

I had a couple questions regarding installing my own AEs (Orion V2s) and was wondering if you could help out a fellow ZHP owner (04 330ci)

-The two color options I was debating were between the stock 4300k color (Xenon) and the 6000k version. Looking at your pictures, did you buy the 4300k version?
-As I am not the foremost expert in DIYs, I have been looking for guides that are specific to facelift e46s but have had to more or less combine a non-face lift guide with a couple pages/screens detailing the baking part. Did you do the same, or were you able to find a guide specific to facelift coupes?

Thanks in advance for the assistance!

1) I actually just bought the usual China made CCFL lights from eBay. There were only $50 with the wires and I've owned them in the past. Looks pretty damn bright and way cheaper than the Orion's

2) I had to piece together numerous pics and DIYs from random searches on Google. They're all from different models but the premise is still the same. Wire the AE's from the front side battery terminal and then remove the headlights. The hardest part is taking out the headlight unit and all it's random screws/plastic pieces. Just make sure to unscrew the electrical units from the bottom of each headlight before placing in the oven. If you have xenons you'll have to leave them in the unit and make sure you don't bake that I long. I actually only had to bake them for about 8-9 min as opposed to the 15 min ppl say

Yeah I figured I'd have to piece the guides together. Also figured the overall premise is the same the difference is how easy it is to open the actual lense of different model types/coupes. I ended up buying the orions and am waiting for them to arrive. I'll have to go to the dealer in the next couple of weeks and have them disable the DRLs probably before I install these.

Thanks for the reply and input.

Not sure why you would need to go to the dealership for this DIY? Also, pardon my ignorance but what did you mean by DRL?
