My guess is 407whp. as long as there is no belt slip. If the IAT's are high I say 389whp.

Not sure, though I doubt the in would be the issue, it's max is 20 psi...so after air compression can't exceed 20 psi...but that can be controlled by the pulley size...

If you're running 11psi I'd be suprised if it made 400whp. As for a turbo back exhaust, with a goal of 500whp I'd run a single 3.5" all the way back.

Also, I did contact ess for a 15 or 16 psi pulley. I did get a paypal invoice from them but they did not specify which pulley it was for. I was concerned about just throwing it on because with the larger TB drawing more air, from a common sense point, I figured would multiply more air through the SC raising the manifold pressure (seeing 13 psi on an 11 psi pulley). This same concept is what I was leaning on to see 400rwhp on the 11 psi pulley. I might change out the pulley before the tune. Hopefully it won't raise the manifold pressure above 20 psi...

The engine is built per ESS for that pulley - they supplied the pistons as part of the stage III

Have a current thread on tuning for non m's...

I ordered the map ECU 3 piggy back. The car is at Eurocharged but tuning the stock ECU is proving too time consuming. I need the ECU anyway so now is the time. They will install and tune it. If it works as advertised, the turbo should go on in the next couple weeks

I'm waiting on the numbers with the current set up...

Update!!!!

It's been awhile, but today was a good day!!

After numerous tuners and products, it seems like I found a band aid. I got the TS3 software (MS45 prototype) from ESS. The ECU came today. The car starts right up and revs fine. I have not had the chance to drive the car yet because

1. I have zero gas,lol
2. My inspection is hella expired
3. The car is covered in a layer of filth
4. The tail light is out

So I will have to wait until it gets later in the night. Tomorrow I will show the car some TLC and hopefully the car will be drivable. Once sorted out, I will attempt to make smal changes via the map4 ECU.

The car has a 15 pound pulley on it right now....

I'll get some video today. The exhaust was way to loud to drive the car over 1500 rpm's. I think the 3in might be to large. I have a resonator and flow through muffler with a baffle but it is still ridiculous!!! I also think the amore aggressive cam and large diameter exhaust is killing the low end performance (below 2000 rpm). I am going to try the steel wool in the exhaust trick to quite it down and restrict the flow.

Update....

I have replaced the exhaust and worked out all but one of the gremlins. I believe it's the vanos, so I ordered a rebuilt one.

The care starts fine, idles good for 3 seconds, then the idle gets slightly erratic, the longer I leave it the more erratic it gets. It stalls and surges about 1800 rpms. It's extremely strong above 2000rpms. So much so, that with DSC off, in second gear, I floor it from 2300rpms and I just get wheel spin (have yet to take it above 3000rpms). The car is a torque monster. It's pulls ridiculously hard.

Here is the current set up. (The turbo has not been added because I tried several piggy backs and none seemed to work with this MS45 software)

M54B30 (131,000 miles)
Ported cylinder head
ESS twinscrew 15 psi pulley
89mm throttle body
ESS prototype software
260/268 cams
3 inch dual magnaflow muffler exhaust
SAP delete
Catch can
Meth (have not run it, only hit 6 pounds of boost)

I would really like to see how the car performs compared to the regular TS3.

I did check for vacuum leaks, but didn't see any. That with the mileage, and the fact that if sat disassembled for months lead to to believe it's the culprit.

I get no code other than the SAP. It seems to be pretty solid right now. Hopefully the clutch will last long enough for me to have some fun with the car.

Well not having the turbo on there seems like the smartest decision you've made for the project thus far...no sense in overcomplicating it...that being said with a 15psi pulley that motor is gonna pop like a can of soup in the fire without being built. Enjoy

Hey thanks, I've appreciated your support all the way through this project!!! Your positive out look has been enlightening!!!

Can I assume that you know this because you have blown a 330 engine with 15 psi?

But thanks for stating the obvious, I'm trying to get 600hp from a car that has 174hp stock, its obvious that things are going to break. It's because things were breaking that I made the progress to this point.

And...if I was really concerned about the engine blowing, I wouldn't have started the project in the first place....so, sit back, ya might learn something Even if you don't, there are others here with 330s that would like to actually see what the engines are capable of. And if I can find a decent piggy back, I will add the turbo, simply because I'm "that" guy!!!

So for those that are here out of interest, I did not swap for lower compression pistons, I lowered compression with a head gasket. I fastened her up with ARP studs.I have not come across any failed pistons in a 330 online. Nor has there been conclusive research for the breaking point. So....we will find out one way or another.

Hopefully I'll get to have some fun before I break the next thing.
