Ok, plz can i get some input? The dealership, BMW of Towson, said they can replace my throttle valve actuator for $665. My indy shop, Autowerkes in Fallston, said they can do it for $800. Hmm.... Indy shop said $630 for the part. Said i could buy one off of ebay and replace myself. But then tells me he's not sure if the car would run. Being that the car is running w/o the adaptation being performed yet. But if so, then change myself and take it there and pay $95 for an hour of labor. Would be only about $70 bucks cheaper than the dealership. Oh yea, and the dealership offers a free BMW loaner car. So then im not paying to drive something like the p o s i'm driving now, cuz my ///m is in the body shop. Any input would be appreciated. Thanx i'm just sayin, lol

throttle valve

I would check the FS section and see if someone is parting out an M3 and do the work yourself.

Just wanted to chime in on this one. When I finally determined my actuator was the issue I ran into similar questions. I was worried about the adaption / calibration so I talked to my local dealer they can do the calibration after the install, but if the car doesn't run you'll have to tow it there. I ended up letting them so the work since they matched the GetBMWparts price. I was tempted to get a used part but if my actuator only made it 78k there's no telling how far a used one would make it.
