My first experience was pretty horrid as well.
After driving SMG M3s more, I don't mind, but I still prefer 6MT since I like to control the clutch.

Or fix up the current chassis. That S54 can come out and go into the E30.

Quite possibly. I want to see how expensive it would be to get the beater into good shape.
If not, will just look out for a nice chassis with a blown engine.

Correct. It's just a GUI way to do the same stuff.

As much as I love 6MT and have always driven 6MT, but I just had a track event with my SMG I would have to say SMG was fun at the track. The car shift great at high speed & high rpms and is pretty damn quick. Most importantly, I think it allowed me to focus more on the driving. My hands are always on the steering wheel.

That lease is going to cost a lot.
I need some trustworthy mechanics to do the work, too.

Yeah...your beginning is going to have to be just you working before you can pick up additional people.

At least I think your beginning is going to be slow and going to have to be quick turn around projects (stuff you could do in a few hours/day at most) With that quick turn around it can help recoup some of the early losses from the lease, moving, parts/equipment etc.

There's not doubt around town it SUCKS! But that doesn't mean the car is crap by any mean. It's just not as comfortable as you would get on a 6MT.

But man...the SMG on the track was definitely fun to drive. After 2nd sessions I actually started braking with left foot and downshift as I go into the turn which is quite an interesting experience.
