Wth...Vatozone and like-places cannot loan code scanners or read codes for you as per state law. it used to be that they just couldn't clear them. Now they can't even read them

Do you guys have any recommendations for cheap scanners? Want to get one just to have on hand. Either handheld or Bluetooth under $30.

The cheap ones are horrendous for BMW specific codes though.

You can often see a used Peake in the classifieds for $80-$100.

Not looking for a BMW one. Looking for a generic code reader for the other 3 cars.

I asked what the cheapest scanner was at O'Reilly just out of curiosity...it was marked as $109, but came up on sale for $89. I checked Amazon and the same one is $39.99 I'll go to BMWSC if I want to get ripped off like that.
