Neato. If you're 18 you're an adult, pay for your own insurance. Go get a quote.
Otherwise ask your parents to get a quote.

If you wait several years for it to roll-off your record AND have no further infractions - you'll be fine (in a couple of years).

I don't need my own right now, how I'm doing it works perfectly fine for me. I was just curious on how much it would rise. Thank you for the help I will get a quote.

I'm 18 and on my parent's insurance. It's cheaper for me to do it that way and I'm not hurting them any because I have a clean driving record. I don't blame the OP for wanting to be on his parents plan, you save a lot of money that way. I pay $1200 a year. I had an 01 330i before the m3 and I was paying $1000 a year with that. So for me it didn't move that much. I live in Maryland and use State Farm. And I get the good student and good driver discounts so that also makes it cheaper

I'll be the adult here. If your parents are paying for your insurance, you had better ask them whether or not THEY have any objections to your purchasing an M3. I can tell you from experience that young men can be exorbitantly expensive to insure when they are being insured to drive a high performance car. The insurance for my 20 year old son costs more than my insurance, my wife's insurance, and our 2 daughters' insurance COMBINED. And that's to drive a C class Mercedes.

I can tell you, if you have anything like what you stated on your license, your rate will go up ALOT when you purchase an M3. 323 and M3 are not even close to being rated the same vehicle. The M3 is marked as high performance, I bet you insurance will easily double or triple even under your parents.
