Shouldn't you put back in the bleeder screw before using the turkey baster?

the bleed hole is just another hole like where the expansion tank cap goes, so not necessary.

On the underside of the block on the passenger side.
Nasty to get a socket on and takes some wrist strength with one hand on a 3/8" drive. See the tie rod cover and ground strap in these pics for orientation: |

I searched and didn't find an answer.....on my Jag, the temp guage was a "feel good" stay in the middle idiot light until all hell broke loose gauge. Does the E46 work the same way? We had a forum member who came up with a fix (new circuit board), and now I know the actual temp. The same mod would be very useful to us if this is the case. It would prevent the all of a sudden the needle goes to the "engine toast" position.

Ours works the same way.
Would be very popular if someone could come up with a mod kit. |

That serves one purpose, but it does not modulate the temp gauge to give an accurate temperature reading.

Seeing your car is a 2001 I would throw a new radiator in there if it's original, even if it's a low mileage vehicle. 13 years of heating and cooling cycles take their toll on the plastics of the unit. It's short money for a MT $132.95 from my local source. It would really suck to get everything back together only to find a leak from reassembly.

The operation was a success! took only a few hours and was very easy. The radiator was dated 2010 so I was good to go there.
I just got back from doing burnouts ![]() thanks guys |

Not to digress from the point of this thread but I'm dying to know the correlation between burnouts and fuel pump & filter failure.....
