I would be able to work wherever, as I'd be a practice leader with the team in a number of locations.

The track is one of my concerns. I'm not sure where you move up from practice leader. Although, that said, as an underwriter, you move up by growing your book. I'd assume you try to do the same thing in this position.

Nope. They specifically said I could stay in Chicago. The last person was in SF.

Oy

Stopped by the tailor in seoul
Picked out three fabrics
For the suit - navy glen plaid with windowpane overlay (all subtle)
For two pairs of pants - a solid mid gray and a slightly lighter gray with a bit of ... don't know how to describe it... looks like a pattern in the way the fabric is weaved
it's not bird's eye or herringbone but something in between ..

Price went up a bit since two years ago ... but still good prices
Would be able to get suit and two pants for a little under $750
Suit $500, pants $125 each

For that price, Johnson and Murphy. What are you looking for? Brown, black? Lace up or loafer?

black, lace up, no broguing. i'm liking cap-toe oxfords; i'm assuming this would go fine with a suit in most situations?

Go hit up a Nordstrom Rack, or something similar, and spend some time trying various shoes on.

If you know what pair of AE you like I would look on ebay and buy a slightly used pair. I've bought 5 pair or so on there, all good experiences. Most looks completely new to the untrained eye. Even smelled new.

The nice think about shoes is that there's much broader area that constitutes "good" fit.

I've got two pair of shoes that are just a bit loose, but if I wear slightly thicker socks, they fit perfect. It's not like you can wear a sweatshirt under your suit to fill it out if the fit is bad.
