Cool M3 Project (Need advice on a few products)

Hi everyone
I'm Ecko, from New Zealand.
Planning on buying an E46 M3 in the next week or two and have a few plans for mods to start with.

But down here we don't have much in the way of local aftermarket parts specialists so I'm going to be importing most of the parts. There are a few in particular that I want an opinion on from people who have used them.

These are:

Status Gruppe CSL Bootlid
Status Gruppe CSL Bumper
Status Gruppe "catless" Headers

No worries about any emissions testing which I've read a little bit about.

Are there any better/cheaper alternatives to these listed products?

Regards
Ecko

I have the Status Gruppe CSL trunklid and the fitment is spot-on. I'm very happy with it. It needs some fitting but so do all the other non-oem trunks. I think it fits just as well as the Vorsteiner at about half the price.

Thanks.
It's nice to get some input!

The SG trunk lid is on my list

There are certainly cheaper alternatives to everything that you have listed, but at that point you would be sacrificing quality and it wouldn't be worth it in my opinion. You're off to a good start with your M3.

The car I was going to buy (when my 530 sold) unfortunately sold yesterday to somebody else

Oh well, if there's something my old man has taught me it's that there is always another car!

Upon reconsideration, I may have to buy several things i.e. CSL boot, bumper, headers, all at once.

Otherwise, individual shipping costs will murder me. Not that the bulk ship won't but it should be a bit more efficient. I can see me trying to justify this to my girlfriend already ...

Before you buy all those mods, you should focus on things the car needs. Don't forget to get a pre purchase inspection.

This.....

Like Mike said, I would make sure the ///M you purchase is all sorted out before modding it. Your mod list looks great so far but do the required maintenance first. You will be glad you did

Cheers guys. Appreciate the input.
Definitely will be getting a PPI before purchase and have everything up to scratch before any cosmetics come along.
